Já pesquisei em alguns lugares da internet , mas não consegui resolver .
O meu google chrome depois de desbloquear a tela fica freezado , não consigo mecher nele e o resto do sistema está ok , até descobri uma gambiarra que sé eu rodar um comando no terminal pra abrir uma nova aba ele a aba é volta a funcionar o navegador.

Eu estava com um problema mais ou menos parecido com o seu, meu chrome travava aleatoriamente e não só na questão de voltar de uma suspensão.
Pesquisei muito sobre o assunto e não encontrei uma solução, reinstalei o sistema e voltou ao normal.

Ps: Eu estava utilizando o sistema de arquivo BTRFS para teste, ao reinstalar, coloquei o sistema de arquivos F2FS em meu SSD (também para testes).
Não sei se o formato do sistema de arquivos tem relação quanto a isso ou foi algum problema na instalação (já que utilizei a mesma mídia), mas ao reinstalar o sistema, tudo voltou ao normal.

Única forma de descobrimo o vilão do google-chrome é chama-lo pelo terminal e atentar nas mensagem que aparace e postar tudo aqui;

Com tantas reportagens atuais colocando o Firefox na frente do Chrome, eu recomendaria que você desistisse do Chrome e passasse a usar somente o Firefox. Recentemente fiz essa migração e o consumo de CPU caiu muito, muito mesmo quando uso o Firefox comparado com o Chrome, visto que eu uso muitas, muitas tabs e o Chrome comia todo meu CPU... A melhor coisa a se fazer é ir para o Firefox e usar ele mesmo para sincronizar aparelhos, histórico etc...

Hum,eu utilizo o google-chrome-beta e não tenho do que reclamar,me atende bem e no consumo razoável ,não vejo o firefox como melhor ou pior apenas como + 1 opção.
